2 Ağustos 1339 da Elbistan'ı zapteden Yıldınm Bayazıt, Elbistan Valiliğini ve Dülkadir Beyliğini Naşir al-Din Mehmet Bey'e vermiştir. Mehmet Bey Gars al-Din Halil Bey'in oğludur. -Kadı Burhaneddin'in kızı ile evli idi. Zamanında Timur, Elbistan ve Dulkadirli topraklarını işgal etmiş ve hakimiyeti altına almıştır. Bundan sonra Naşir al-Din Mehmet Bey, kızlarından birini verdiği Osmanlı Hükümdarı Sultan Çelebi Mehmet'le ittifak etmiş, daha sonra Karamanoğulları ve Ramazanoğulları ile savaşarak zaferler kazanmıştır. 1419 da Mısır Sultanı al-Mu'ayyatın himayesine girmiş ve kendisine Kayseri zeamet olarak verilmiştir. 1436 da Murat II. Kayseri'yi zaptetmiş, devletine katmış ve Dulkadırlılere bırakmıştır. Hayatının bundan sonraki kısmı kardeşi Ali Bey ve daha sonra onun oğlu Hamza Beyle mücadele içinde geçen Naşir al - Din Mehmet Bey 44 yıldan fazla hükümet sürdükten sonra 1443 de vefat etti. Zamanında Dulkadirli Beyliğinin Hama'ya kadar hükümran olduğu ve 30.000 sillahşöre malik bulunduğu tarihçi Bertrandon de la Brogiere tarafından tesbit edilmiştir. Tag :        |
