Kardeşi Arslan Bey'in katli üzerine Mısır Sultanının Fermanı ile 1465 de Dulkadirli tahtına birinci defa oturdu. Halkın ileri gelenleri cinayette eli olduğunu bildiklerinden ve kardeş katili saydıklarından Şahbudak Bey'i istemiyorlardı. Diğer kardeşi Şehsuvar Bey'in tahta oturtulması için Sultan Fatih'e müracaat ettiler Zaten Şehsuvar ve Alaüddevle Beyler Fatih'e sığınmışlardı. Fatih bu müracaatı kabul ederek, iki seçkin alayla Şehsuvar Bey'i Şahbudak üzerine gönderdi. Şahbudak Bey mağlup oldu ve Mısır'a kaçtı. Şahbudak Bey emrivakilere boyun eğecek ve felaketlerden yılacak adam değildi. Mısır Sultanı Kayıtbay'ın yardımını sağlamağa muvaffak olduysa da, Mısır orduları her defasında Şehsuvar karşısında bozgundan bozguna uğruyordu. Fakat sonunda Şehsuvar Bey yenildi ve öldürüldü. (1472). Kayıtbay tarafından Şahbudak Bey ikinci defa Dulkadir tahtına oturtuldu. Fatih Sultan Mehmet kayınbiraderi Şahsuvar Bey'in durumuna müteessir oldu. Bir zaman sonra Süleyman Bey'in en küçük oğlu Alaüddevle Bey'i Dulkadir tahtına çıkardı. Şahbudak Mısır'a kaçtı, Alaüddevle'nin isteği üzerine Mısır'da hapsedildi ise de, bir yolunu bularak kaçtı. Osmanlı Padişahı Bayazıt II. ye sığındı. Kendisine Vize sancağı verilerek Alaüddevle'ye karşı gönderildi. Fakat mağlup olarak tutuklandı, zincire vurularak Mısır'a gönderildi ve orada idam edildi (1480). Tag :        |
